Getting arty with resin
A talented artist has used
resin flooring materials manufactured by Flowcrete to create striking abstract paintings.
Becky Buchanan’s interest in French artist Bernard Frize’s work with resin paints led
her to approach the Cheshire based flooring company about the products.
Becky, who is based in Somerset, said: “The paintings are particularly interesting in the way that they combine the more traditional oil paints with contemporary resins.
“Flowcrete have been very supportive. They supply all my paint for free and have given me excellent technical advice.
“I came across the company’s website while researching resin paint manufacturers and felt it projected an image of a company which was innovative and forward thinking.
“Flowcrete were eager to help from the first time I made contact with them early this year. I am keen to build my relationship with the company and I plan to hold a small exhibition at Flowcrete’s headquarters.”
Becky worked as a textile designer in the fashion industry before taking fine art as a mature student at the Somerset College of Arts and Technology and achieving a First Class Honours degree.
She produces abstract art
on large canvasses. Her work has been well received by art critics and the public, with
her paintings selling well at initial exhibitions in the
West Country.
Mark Greaves, managing director of Flowcrete, said: “We are delighted to be
able to support Becky in
her flourishing career as a
fine artist.
“It is interesting to see how she has used products manufactured for the world of flooring to produce stunning works of art.”
